Weston-Super-Mare - Somerset - attracts many visitors throughout the year. On reaching the sea at low tide features a walk of more than one mile, Weston-Super-Mare beach more than compensates the banks of mud and shingle which stretches up the coast to the Severn Bridge. Flanked by Brean Down and the wooded ridge of Worlebury Hill, which was fortified during the Iron Age, Weston Bay provides safe swimming at high tide except at its southern end, where there are strong currents at the mouth of the river axis.
