Tala Madini paints a provocative and humorous discourse on cultural and sexual identity. Picturing the male domain in all its stereotypical glory, Madini portraits of Middle Eastern men are fictitious rituals of a deviant, distinctly female imagination: prayer gatherings twisted into homosexual orgies, birthday parties targeted for terrorist attacks, and tattoos and body hair plucking construed as the latest in ultra-Metamorphoses macho beauty. In devising her scenes of aberrant ceremony, Madini highlights the essence of frustration, and lack enthusiasm.

Appropriating the prejudices of race and gender differences as a starting point on the bizarre and surreal, Madini uses his position 'Other' to draft her own elaborate fantasies, detailing a tumultuous mob of cliquey sect-like subterfuge. The pattern of recurrence birthday cake in paints Madini as an emblem of the male ego. The impotence of melting candles to protract the conclusion ultimate 'Blow them / make them explode, as pink gooey pastries become the signature trademark of his Maverick suicide bombers.

Tala Madini assured fusion of formal and narrative evokes both Western and Persian miniatures political cartoons. Instruments cakes are apparently Multifunction celebration, torture and bonding ritual. In "Burn Chest" and "Back to Burn on hand" men float on their hands the candles, then press into the flesh of other men. In "containing Cake "is placed candles on the man heavily tattooed shoulders of another. Elsewhere, cakes suggest bombs, ski masks or soap.
