Prehistoric fantasy is the kind of stories written in prehistoric times. But they just arenÂ't "Caveman" stories. They are wonderfully written drama which also get a good overview of the real subjects of anthropological and archaeological.
The term "Prehistoric Fantasy "brings to mind images of films about cavemen, who are often comedies and parodies. But the genre of fantasy prehistoric is a wonderful, kind old couple who often takes a serious look at the archaeological and anthropological topics and issues, then built these issues in the great dramas set in the prehistoric period. And the prehistoric period is a time of great drama where strange creatures live on earth, huge glaciers covered the summit of the world, and behind every tree hid the possibility of a hungry predator. It was apparently a simpler time, but much more dangerous than modern times.
We can reasonably assume that daily life in prehistory Times was a struggle for survival. How these people time to face these struggles and what were their views on the world and life in general? We can only speculate on these issues, and archeology and anthropology we have theories about these early people lived. And it is in these matters an additional dimension is added to the genre of fantasy prehistoric. Reviewing and formulating hypotheses about prehistoric life, we also shed light on how we came to be, how we live, and what are the things that drive us as a people and modern society.
The genre itself is long, but she came to the fore as a legitimate genre with the publication of Jean M. Auel's book The Bear Clan caves. In this book, several themes are explored but the central theme was the question of modern man, how it can be changed since Cro-Magnon and how the race of the Neanderthals died out. Auel looks to the spirit of these two races, how they differ in their thinking, and how the brain of Cro-Magnon was significantly superior for survival. And all this is wrapped in a wonderful story a boy of five orphaned Cro-Magnon girl who is supported by a Neanderthal clan.
Auel wrote a series of five books called the Eartha series for children, these books take place in Europe during the ice age. But the genre of fantasy prehistoric also covers all Earth and another mass in the genus is the first North Americans Series by Kathleen and Michael Gear. This series of books takes place in many parts of America North towards the end of the last glacial period, a time when Native Americans and early mammoths roamed the grasslands and land. This series of books is currently up thirteen volumes, and if you're interested in reading some of it the first novel in the series is entitled The People of the Wolf.
Prehistoric fantasy is a wonderful "thinking people" such as it not only offers great drama, but it also offers a overview of the ways we humans lived in prehistoric times and how this shaped the way we humans live and think at the time modern. If you like fantasy but also want to take some very serious food for thought about life I recommend you try a prehistoric fantasy novel. You wonÂ't be disappointed.
