Over the last decade, the Association of Dealers Charleston Fine Art '(FCSM) has grown from a handful founding members to 13 members galleries that have helped transform Charleston art market. Comply with standards of professionalism, members galleries CFAD represent a diversity of fine arts and talent, this delicate balance of history and tradition combined with contemporary and modern pieces, creates a unique artistic scene in Charleston. News and rub modernity and tradition, appreciation of history allows the development and growth in a new direction. CFAD will celebrate its 10th anniversary this November with the annual Charleston Fine Arts.
Charleston had a history of long-term love with the arts. Since 1708, the first documented case of a professional artist in the United States, Henrietta Johnston, is arrived in Charleston. As a widow, she supported her family by creating pastel portrait commissions. William Aiken Walker was a Charleston-born artist and the early 20th century Charlestonian Elizabeth O'Neill Verner, who has studied all over the world, has become well known for his scenes engraved and colored.
From 1915-40, the Charleston Renaissance period was highlighted by the work of Verner, Alice Ravenel Huger Smith, Anna Heyward Taylor and of long visits nationally by prominent artists such as Edward Hopper, Alfred Hutty and Childe Hassam.
These artists have some thing in common: they all painted the historic town, Southern Life or its inhabitants. The subject still attracts new talent in Charleston. It is safe to say that many artists the region began to paint because their creative souls have really been inspired by their environment.
The art market Charleston offers the past, present and future recorded in works of art with works of fine Renaissance Charleston and paintings 21st century from hundreds of local artists, national and international as well as modern and abstract art. Famous collectors Travel Charleston to find artistic treasures and local art lovers strongly support the visual arts "in the region.
Today, Charleston is considered by the arts groups "in one of the top 10 destinations arts in the nation. Over the last 10 years CFAD has been at the forefront of the arts industry in Charleston and galleries members actively promote the new Renaissance movement which began transformation of Charleston art world in the mid nineties. They have contributed to the classification of Charleston in raising professional standards, research new talent, contributing to local arts programs and introducing the most beautiful works and artistic events in the city.
Collaboration galleries CFAD members with the community is certainly important. Each gallery supports an important cause and CFAD as a group raises funds programs for local art school and in scholarship. CFAD artists have made an enormous amount of time and resources to Charleston next generation artists. Many of them teach regular workshops for young students and give private lessons.
CFAD is credited gate some of the finest works of famous artists in Charleston. A remarkable exhibition as the exhibition was organized revolutionary by Ella Richardson Fine Art projection of graphic works by Picasso, Marc Chagall and Pierre-Auguste Renoir in 2005. Ann Long Fine Art presented an exhibition entitled Maestros: Charles Cecil, Daniel Graves, Ben Long, and Jeffrey Mims in November 2008 in honor of the four master painters who taught the techniques of classical painting since over thirty years.
The Sylvan Gallery Charleston chosen as its site and introduced many well-known in other places but unfamiliar to the southeast. Strong community established in the region and attended by CFAD efforts contributed to the choice of sylvan. Helena Fox Fine Art mounted a show titled "Support The American fishermen" in the spring of 2007, as the world was acknowledging the disappearance of local fishermen. Two other Galleries Contemporary opened in Charleston since the formation of CFAD - Robert Lange Studios and Corrigan Gallery. They illustrate the growing art market in Charleston and diversity of creative vision.
In November 1999, FCSM held its first Charleston Fine Art Annual has become a tradition and its signature event. Today, the multi-day event attracts art collectors of art and visitors to Charleston, offering a chance to meet of national and local artists and develop relationships to join their acquisitions.
In July 2006, CFAD also launched its art and Drive Food Palette and Palate Stroll, who grew up in an exclusive evening of fine arts, gastronomy and wine backed by the best local restaurants and raise money for Scholarship CFAD art that is used to fund educational programs at local art institutions.
Founded In 1999, the Association of Charleston Fine Art Dealers' consists of the most influential galleries of the city. The association promotes Charleston as a destination works Art for art lovers and collectors passionate fans.

Vladia Jurcova Spencer of Stylee PR and Marketing has worked since 2004 to introduce Charleston's fine art world to art enthusiasts, talented artists and art collectors. Charleston's fine art world is a true gem among art art markets. The Charleston Fine Art Annual is taking place on November 4-7, 2009.
