The Story Behind Stardust: "It started mainly in 1991," says Gaiman. "Charles and I have won the World Fantasy Award for The Sandman 19: The Dream of a Summer Night. We were in Tucson, Arizona, where we really surprised ourselves and everyone by winning the prize. We surprised everyone else so that the judges, the secret committee behind the judge, met the next morning and changed the rules so it could never happen again.
